Bright Star CD – available online to download now!
Cadenza are pleased to announce that our latest CD, Bright Star – Cadenza at Christmas, is now available to download from several major retailers, including iTunes, Amazon and Play.com. This is our first foray into digital releases, and we are over the moon with our listing. More online retailers are offering Bright Star throughout the world every day – check the Bright Star CD page for the latest updates.
Bright Star is a unique collection of contemporary (20th and 21st century) Christmas carols, the majority of which have a Scottish connection, in being either written or arranged by composers who are Scottish or are based in Scotland. As far as we are aware, there is no other CD on the market devoted to contemporary Christmas music from Scotland. Not all the carols will be new or unfamiliar, though the arrangements of some of the better known ones might be. Musical Director, Jenny Sumerling, has selected a variety of choral textures – multi-part (not just SATB!), unison and ladies only. They also include a mix of accompanied (by piano and organ) and a cappella carols.
Unfortunately, due to the difficulty in ensuring the correct royalties are paid, Bright Star is not currently available to download in the USA and Canada. However, please do visit our Bright Star page and we’ll be delighted to send you a physical CD through good old-fashioned ‘Snail Mail’!
