Another full house and a V Fine Concert – take a bow Cadenza
A full house yesterday evening heralded another very successful Fringe concert. The opening piece, Zelenka’s Miserere in C minor, ends so quietly in great contrast to the very energetic opening, that our audience seemed a little unsure for a few moments that it had actually finished! But from then on, their response to our performance was wholeheartedly warm and enthusiastic, including some cheers and three curtain calls.
No reviews as yet that we know of, but some excellent feedback already via Twitter, email and word of mouth.
“Very impressed by the Zelenka Miserere performed by @CadenzaChoir, all the solo contributions.”
“V fine concert last night by @CadenzaChoir at Greyfriars. An adept and musical choir with an exemplary set of sopranos.”
(by Twitter)
“What a terrific concert it was last night. The Musical Director had the choir at her fingertips and their singing was refined and beautiful. The orchestra also played beautifully (especially the soloists) and the vocal soloists were a great line-up.”
“This was the best Cadenza concert we have ever attended. The music was almost ‘unworldly’ and made one tingle. We enjoyed and admired the singing, the orchestra’s playing and the choice of programme.”
(from audience members who also commented that our German pronunciation in the Bach was excellent!)
“Is this being recorded for BBC radio 3?”
(Sadly not, but a nice thought!)
“…hard to believe [this is] an amateur choir…”
(high praise indeed from our soloists)
“If you weren’t with us on Saturday you missed a wonderful evening of Baroque music. Cadenza take a bow, it was a good one.”
Watch this space for more feedback as we receive it.
