Virtuosic

This was the verdict of the Broadway Baby critic who reviewed our Fringe concert on 25th August. In the course of a glowing 4* review, he refers to “a beautiful evening of accomplished music from both the choir and orchestra”, “the skill and dexterity of the choir”, and “the quality [….] that meant that the audience never felt short-changed”.
Read the Broadway Baby review in full.

In spite of dire warnings that the Olympics, or the recession, had resulted in a significant downturn in Fringe tickets sales, we were delighted to welcome, once again, a capacity audience filling not just the body of the Kirk but the restricted view side pews as well. And a most appreciative audience they were too, demonstrating this not only with prolonged applause (as pointed out by our critic) but also by cheering the choir at the end.

Audience feedback since the concert has been equally warm with many compliments, including (short but to the point):
“Brilliant!”
as well as
“…nothing short of fantastic..”
“…the choir’s performance was mesmerising…”
and
“…the best thing we’ve seen at the Fringe…”
while others praised more specific aspects of our performance:
“…lovely music, beauteous voices…”
“…loved the sound you made…”
“…stunned by both the discipline of both ensemble and dynamic. A very, very good choir…”
“…beautiful music, beautifully sung – Cadenza’s best ever concert!..”

and finally
“Your concerts are always excellent but this time you all excelled yourselves. We were both thrilled with your performance”

As our Broadway Baby critic concluded – “Sterling stuff.”
