Concerts
Cadenza performs regularly throughout Scotland and beyond, with a wide-ranging repertoire which includes folk, jazz and popular songs as well as Renaissance church music, major choral works and contemporary classics.
There are two annual fixtures in the Cadenza calendar: the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Concert and the Christmas Concert. The Fringe Concert takes place every August in central Edinburgh. This is Cadenza’s largest concert each year, and includes a major choral work by composers as diverse as Bach, Mendelssohn, Fauré, Duruflé and Maxwell Davies. The choir is usually joined by professional soloists and a full orchestra.
The Christmas concert is a more lighthearted affair, with a repertoire which includes ancient and modern carols as well as the old favourites – some of which are performed in fun arrangements, as you’ve never heard them before! There is also an opportunity for the audience to sing with the choir in some traditional carols.
In addition to these concerts, Cadenza frequently performs for and on behalf of charities. These concerts usually take place in the spring or early summer and have raised thousands of pounds over the years for a wide range of charities in the UK and overseas. Please contact us if you would like the choir to help raise funds for your charity.
